Occasionally I break out of my Mon-Fri schedule with some inane weekend post.

Pottermore

Pottermore

Pottermore by J.K. Rowling

I finally got it. Because it’s still in BETA testing it keeps crashing. You may not hear from me much over the next few days. Just kidding. Next week is full of posts about Water for Elephants and Carnie Town! So, you know, buckle your seatbelts… it’s gonna be a blast!

Back in 2007 when I worked for Student Life as the PR/Internet Coordinator I had the awesome privilege of carrying around a MacBook Pro all summer. It was a tiny thing, but awesome. And one of the features I fell in love with (and was a big motivator in my purchasing a MacBook) was Stickies. Currently I have one whole desktop screen filled with Stickies.

Managing the Mayhem of My Brain & Some Inspiration

I have the entire day off today and am planning on an effort in THE EPIC PURGE OF 2011. Most of my room is filled with things from five years ago that I haven’t touched or wanted since we moved into the house. So, I’m going to be getting rid of ALL THE THINGS.

In effort to create some accountability, I suppose, I’m sharing with you my To-Do List. So, think of me fondly as I blast music and attempt to empty my room of the myriad useless things I own.

what I shall do today

Anybody looking for a grow-your-own swashbuckler? Or a grow-your-own boyfriend? Anyone? Daniel Cura?

Of course all of these plans will be completely scrapped if at some point today I receive my Official Welcome Letter into Pottermore. I’ve become obsessive about checking my email, ya’ll. It’s ridiculous.

Happy Saturday!

Last night in effort to avoid watching a LMN Original movie with my mom I suggested we watch one of the most beautiful movies in recent history

Pride Prejudice Smart Guy

Pride & Prejudice

During most movies I get a little antsy and pull out my phone to peruse the IMDB app to look up inane things. I was curious as to what Matthew Macfadyen is up to and what I discovered was a whole new motivation to finish reading Anna Karenina.

Guys, pretty much the same team is making Anna Karenina into a movie. I’m already imagining how beautiful it’s going to be with Joe Wright directing. And with heavy hitters like Kiera Knightley, Jude Law, and Matthew Macfadyen as well as two of my recent favourites Aaron Johnson and Domhnall Gleeson this movie is going to be gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the exquisitely detailed horse race translated into movie magic.

One caveat I have is this entirely Russian story is being acted out by a British cast. But I can get over that I think cause they’re just so dang pretty.

The movie is slated for 2012 (one more reason the world won’t end) so I still have plenty of time to finish the novel. It’s been sitting stubbornly at page 407 for about a month now. It also means that all of you waiting in anticipation for my review can start reading with me and we can have a celebration with the movie releases. Deal?

Until then Happy Saturday.
